The Origin

White Queen was born on 10th July 2003 in a club called "Don Piccio" in Campomarino of Maruggio (Italy). The founder of the band is from Manduria, a small Italian town better known as "Terra del Primitivo". The name of the band comes from a 1974 Queen track.

The Show

White Queen performances are a crescendo of music, cabaret, theatre, striptease and quick-change acting. A unique experience in Italy given by the accuracy with which the members of the band emulate their idols. The great presence of the front man, his quick changing of eccentric costumes and his provocative movements on the stage are framed by an impressive resemblance with Freddie Mercury and the amazing way "Bryan May", "Roger Taylor", "John Deacon" and the fifth member "Spike Edney" (support keybord player) act and behave on the stage...

On the stage White Queen revives the best Queen video clips such as "I WANT TO BREAK FREE", in which the cross-dressing of the members of the band is absolutely hilarius and making the show even more outrageous...

The Mission

White Queen's mission is to hand down the music of "QUEEN" to next generations and keep the memory of Freddie Mercury - anunrivalled showman, a powerful voice, the last immortal - alive.

The Origin

Piero Venery was born on 5th February 1980 in Manduria (Italy). Since he was just a child he has shown a significant passion for singing. This passion inevitably led Piero to his first performance in 1996. He was the front man of a band called DARKNESS, but it didn't last long because of Piero's shyness in front of the microphone. This band come to an end in 1997 and Piero carried on studying graphic arts getting a diploma in 1998.

Piero, deeply disappointed by the failure of the band, decided to join the army. After 3 years and 2 months he found himself tired of the military life because he couldn't express himself freely and fully. He decided to quit the army and threw himself wholeheartedly into a new challenge: handing down the memory of Freddie Mercury to next generations.

He "put down the rifle" and picked up the microphone again which turned out to be his real winning weapon. He started taking part to singing festivals in order to overcome his on-stage panic. Discharged from the Army on April 24, 2003, on May 12 he caught a severe cold and had to stay in bed for more than 8 days. As soon as he recovered, while he was shaving himself, inspired by his idol -Freddie mercury- Piero decided to keep his moustaches. He was so curious about how he would have looked as a Freedie mercury lookalike that he decided to keep the moustaches for a few days, especially because the Fragagnano (TA - Italy) Rock Festival was about to come and a few days before catching that bad cold he has already entered the festival and got in touch with a popular drummer of the area, Marco Rollo, who immediately agreed on Piero's project of reviving for the first time in Apulia the memory of "The Queen".
